As a social enterprise born to support aspiring and experienced performers, we want to see people developing their passions, finding new audiences and discovering exciting opportunities to generate an income.
We are also focused on providing opportunities related to the technical aspects of production and management of live performance, including set design, stage management and sound and light engineering.
Iconic was born in 2012: we saw a gap and a need in the performing arts industry for people to connect and share their talents.
Our hope is to encourage artists to continue performing and to pursue a career within the performing arts.
There is a lack of opportunity out there; we aim to help create those opportunities.
Our long-term aim is to provide a platform where you can upload photos and videos (coming soon) that will appear in front of venues and agents.
You will then be able to network with other artists and industry professionals via instant messaging; this will help find opportunities to perform in venues and at events, locally and nationally.
Become a featured artist by using your email address, adding some useful info about yourself (your own biography), as well as your general location and areas of interest.
Have your chance to stand out from the crowd!
I have over 20 years’ experience in business development within the charitable and social enterprise sector, setting up projects and programmes that benefit individuals and the community. I am a firm believer that helping others is a good thing to do, creates stronger communities and helping to build a happier society for everyone: It’s not all about money – we can also give our time, ideas and energy to help make this successful. This is what makes Iconic such an exciting initiative.
Artists Liaison Director
I have a long-standing volunteering background and I have dedicated my time to causes such as but not limited to; Oxjam Music Festival, Beating Bowel Cancer, FTM Dance, Leicester Comedy Festival, Big Difference Company, Art Beat Festival, De Montfort University, Coventry University, Scoliosis Association UK and the YMCA.
Having gained a BSc Hons in Psychology, I have worked within the sector in support worker roles, before moving onto administration, management and training roles. I am currently enjoying what I describe as my ‘dream role’ of an Events and Communications Officer. This experience has helped me become a Director of Iconic Music, Drama and Dance Ltd and I welcome the opportunity to support artists/performers and take Iconic forward.
I have a great deal of experience gained from being in the role of Regional Business Development manager within the charitable, education, community and voluntary sectors; for over twenty years. My particular experience is in business development and project management. My bid-writing skills and attention to detail will enable me to contribute positively toward the leadership, management and progression of Iconic. My approach is to act as a critical friend. I’m especially keen to help develop Iconic as an organisations and establish mutually beneficial partnerships; especially with those organisations and individuals that have a strong social mission, work with people to help them fulfil their potential and focus on building strong, self-reliant communities.
I have 10 years of experience working in education, a Masters degree in creative non-fiction writing and extensive experience offering business admin support to busy individuals and organisations.
As well as being a full-time mum, I have a passion for helping others and driving social change. I have extensive volunteering experience, in particular, working with refugees and asylum seekers in Leicester and I am really looking forward to working with Iconic helping the business to grow and getting involved with the exciting projects we have in the pipeline.
I am a young marketer with a passion for theatre and film culture, and graphic design, approaching marketing strategies with freshness and creativity. After graduating in Performing Arts, Media and Communication (with a distinction), I joined Iconic’s team, benefitting from the Erasmus+ programme for traineeship, taking responsibility for the development and management of our digital channels and promotional campaigns. Iconic is simply the perfect mix of arts and entrepreneurship.
I have experience in B2B marketing and a passion for drawing people’s attention to the great things in life. The part that first attracted me to Iconic was the background behind its creation as a social enterprise. Having enjoyed Performing Arts so much at college and with a family involved in the Arts, it definitely sparked a connection.
My passion and enthusiasm for the performing arts led me to apply for the role of Volunteer Business Administrator at Iconic and I strive to make positive social change through my voluntary work. My experience of being the Vice President of my Student Union in the past has made me confident in my own abilities and I believe I will be able to contribute towards the organisation reaching its goals and targets. Being part of the team is helping me to learn, develop new skills and grow as a person. My sense of humour helps me to get on well with people, even those I meet for the first time.
I have over 12 years’ experience in retail management with a focus on leadership and people management. I have a keen interest in project management and programs that support the community that make a difference to our society. I am very passionate about helping others to succeed and seeing people progress as this is what really drives me. I am very excited to be taking on this role and is looking forward to contributing to the growth of Iconic. I am currently volunteering and involved in a number of performing arts initiatives as a way of gaining experience and developing my skills within the performing arts sector, in particular, film production and stage management.
